When life gives you Ricottas, treasure them!

Apparently Mommy has realized how important I was to her after one very unfortunate incident in ECP that had already passed, but left a mark in her heart. Well, I'm not saying she doesn't love me (of course she does!), but apparently people only know how to treasure them properly through loss, especially her, according to what she said.

Mommy tells me that we will go through life together, no matter what happens, and I'll always be the best and most important sheltie to her and in her life *flashes smile*. Life's not about fights and winning, but how to live it. It's just like playing agility, it's not about winning, it's about having fun. We'll have our ups and downs like faults, but we can always try and try again. People try, people fail, people try, people fail. But you ONLY FAIL when YOU give up on YOURSELF. Don't let people change you, but always try to accept their criticisms, be yourself, and have fun!

"Made a wrong turn, Once or twice
Dug my way out, Blood and fire
Bad decisions, That's alright
Welcome to my silly life

Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood
Miss "no way, it's all good", It didn't slow me down
Mistaken, Always second guessing
Under estimated, Look, I'm still around

Pretty, pretty please
Don't you ever, ever feel
Like your less than perfect.
Pretty, pretty please
If you ever, ever feel
Like your nothing
You're perfect to me."

National Day!

Mari kita rakyat Singapura, Sama-sama menuju, bahagia!

Guess what I'm singing? It's Singapore's national anthem! Today is a very special day for my (an mommy's) country, because it's Singapore's 46th year of independence!!! I'm a Singaporean too, you know! So to commemorate this day, Mommy made a special graphic for my blog:

Viola! Wishing all Singapore doggies and their momsies and dadsies a happy National Day, 2011! Majulah, the Singapore spirit! Woof!

Cookies.

Mommy made a new header + blog design!!! I'm not sure what to make out of it, but she sure seems happy! Apparently Mommy said she was hard at work while I was sleeping my day away- she sure has her ways to make me sound bad! Grr.

I know this is kind of delayed, but Mommy made cookies yesterday!! Cookies!!! COOKIES COOKIES. Oops sorry. Anyway, they looked so.... eatable on the table. I mean they were sitting RIGHT THERE!! But she said they weren't for me and I would have salivated myself to death if I ate them... Yes so if you guessed CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES, you get a treat from me (virtually of course). Let Chef Rico show you the steps! Without actually doing it of course.

First, you put the cookies on the tray:

And then you bake them:

Thirdly, you put them on the cooling rack:

And lastly, you eat them!!

But I didn't get ANYTHING. Grr!!!!

Okay, I shall stop talking about this very depressing topic. Mommy brought me to a pavilion for obedience training today, and I met this really big sheltie named Russel who's 8 this year. I was trying to be manly and all, but apparently Russel only wanted Momsie's attention because she carried treats with her. And she actually gave him MY treats when I SAT DOWN FOR THEM. *Grumble* Russel is such a bully! Mommy said I would have to learn how to share my food, because she says she's hoping to get a little sister for me. That means I would have to share my toys, doesn't it?

Anyway, Mommy says she needs to take her bathe now, and I have to hand the computer over right now. *Grumblegrousecarp* Okay, five more minutes! Sheesh! Sometimes she can be sooo impatient! So, that's all and goodnight folks!

Rico's photoshoot!

Well, first of all, sincere apologies for not posting for such a long time! Mommy's examinations are coming and she's studying really hard. By studying really hard, I mean it! She doesn't even have time to bring me out for long walkies these few days. Only short ones here and there! But I guess that's forgivable, because if you add them all up I think it's longer than my long walkies actually. Heehee.

Anyway, one day mommy felt bad for neglecting me, so she brought me out, together with her brother :) It was a real super duper long walk! But mommy thought I was acting tough, because I was barking non-stop at a boxer nearby. Well, I need to show him who's boss! I mean, trampling on my patch of grass like that. How rude! But mommy said parks are meant to be shared, so I guess I have to share my grass patch too. :(

But suddenly, halfway through our long walkie, mommy shrieked and caught everyone (including me!) on surprise. She started rattling on and on that she forgot to bring the camera! And then she dragged me and her brother back home, got the camera and started telling her brother something about a photoshoot (is that something to eat?), and then dragged us outside again. Anyway, if photoshoot was food, it's apparently not appearing, and instead, mommy made us run about madly and then she took photos of us! In the end, mommy's brother got tired of it, and told her to pose, and he would be the camera-man instead.

Here are some photos of the ever handsome me, mommy and her brother! :)

That's about it, folks! Till the next post! :D

Rico's family

Yay! Today I get back my "posting rights" to the blog! Mom did all the posting recently, and I pleaded and pleaded to get her to let me use the computer! So I got it! First of all, I'd like to thank my friends who posted nice comments about my training videos. So far these are the only two I know, and mom says we'll be practicing more useful obedience stuff like stay and down so get ready for more videos! :) But today I'll be telling you stuff about my family members, the aristomilago shelties! :D

And I'm not too young to use the computer, mind you! I know this other sheltie on Facebook who's around my age... what's her name? I think Zoey. And she uses her daddy's facebook! SHE USES HER DADDY'S FACEBOOK! She has facebook!!!!! Well, maybe not hers, but still!!! I bet if my mommy Trixee or daddy Meteor had facebook, I'd be able to use it! Hmfph! It's unfair! I want a facebook too!

-GASPS- You see that picture? That's my grandpa, Prince!!!!! AND HE USES THE COMPUTER TOO. My grandpa is supposed to be grandpa-ish but he knows how to use computer! That's one hip grandpa I have, don't you agree? Mom says he acts younger than he actually is too! He loves staying in between, like in between two legs, or even in between two people! He loves barking and sometimes people think he's a bit fierce (haha!), but Mom think he's a real sweet and friendly dog actually :D So that means you can't judge a dog by his bark (and mind you, I have a very manly bark)!

And that's my grandpa Prince and daddy Meteor (the sable sheltie -pokes up-) ! He's one hip agility sheltie, just like my friend, Ricky the sheltie! :) Maybe when I grow up I'll aspire to be like my daddy Meteor, and grandpa Prince, who are both agility dogs!. :) He's so cool and awesome! I'm a boy too, so I should follow in their footsteps someday... But Mom said I was a bit freaked out when they put me on the dog agility A-frame, but I somehow managed to crawl down. In the end, I stayed in the shade under the A-frame! You can't blame a dog for wanting to relax!!

Okay, enough of the guys in my family, so I bet you want to know more about the girls right? Well, let's get on to them!

Heehee! Guess who those pretty girlies are? That my sister JJ and mommy Trixee! Aren't they both so pretty? Sister JJ is the one on the chair and mommy Trixee is the one on the floor :) I loved playing with Sister JJ while I was in my breeder's house and mommy Trixee pampered me and my sister, Tira a lot :D Sister JJ is from mommy Trixee and daddy Meteor's first litter, and boy is she big and pretty now! Mom thinks I have a striking resemblance to her, as in terms of ear setting a the face structure :)

That's sister JJ on the left and me on the right! We look the same, don't we? Except that I have the white blaze in between :D

Anyway, some of you may be thinking, who's Tira? Well, I've introduced her in this blog before, but I guess I'll tell you more about her! She's my litter mate, and she's a really pretty girlie too! I love my sister a lot, and I like to play with her too! After all, it was the both of us growing up together :) Although we don't stay together now, we are still great playmates as we meet up for the monthly sheltie gatherings :D

I am very lucky to have such a pretty sheltie as a sister right? :D

And then there's grandma Coco!

Isn't she so sweet and pretty too? Mom thinks she one of the sweetest dogs she's ever met! Hmm, sweeter than me? -jealous- But anyway, grandma Coco is the infamous -ahem-, I mean, famous, puppy discipliner! Yes, she PUNISHES us! Well, that's what grandmas do, right? Last time Tira got a good punishing from grandma Coco for being naughty and disrespectful. Grandma Coco punished sister JJ when she was young, and now sister JJ punishes Tira for being naughty, heehee! I don't play much with grandma Coco, because if I do, I might put myself in the risk of being punished! Sweet sheltie? Not so! But Mom for once is a bad judge! And once again I shall say, you can't judge a dog by its bark! But grandma Coco doesn't even bark! So I don't blame Mom for not being able to judge and calling grandma Coco a sweet sheltie, when she's just like any other gran!

And lastly there's my oldest sister, sister Kaycie! She belongs to one of Mom's friends, Sibonay. She's sister JJ's littermate, and I only have a vague recollection of her visiting me when I was a tiny baby puppy. Mom says she's a sweet dog too! A bigger version of grandma Coco! I hope she doesn't punish though... :X I heard from sister JJ that grandma Coco NEVER punished Sister Kaycie before! A legendary tale! She must have been a really well-behaved puppy then! Unlike me and Tira! Heehee.

That's sister Kaycie! Stunning right? Just like sister JJ! I think all the girlies in my family are so pretty!! Too bad I'm a boy, or I would have said I wanted to be as pretty as them! But I think I'd stick to being as handsome as daddy Meteor or grandpa Prince. That's what you get for being the only boy in the third generation!

So to sum it up, I have 10 family members! Grandma Coco and grandpa Prince, mommy Trixee and daddy Meteor, sister Kaycie and Jaycie, and my little sister, Tira! Daddy Meteor actually has a brother and sister, so that means I have an aunt and uncle, which makes ten! Teehee! Not bad right? Maybe I might become an uncle myself sometime in the future... Heehee!

Anyway I'll end this post with a picture of Tira and myself.... when we were one month old! :D

I'm the one with the tail sticking straight up like a radar sensor! Teehee! Till the next post! Hope you enjoyed reading about my family members! :)
